The Fundamentals | Sprint Facilitator

Audience
Individually:
Any practitioner of collective intelligence, design thinking, service design , lean startup or just simply collaborative work wishing to design and facilitate workshops in design sprint mode: marketing, human resources, digital, innovation, transformation, consultant, team leader, product manager, ux designer, scrum master, product owner, etc.

Prerequisite: certified completion of the Design Thinker module or its equivalent.

Objectives
To acquire and practice the role of facilitator.
To experience and create a collaborative dynamic.
To learn to design a workshop based on Design Thinking, service design in design sprint mode.
To build the confidence necessary to facilitate.
You are ready to design and facilitate your first collaborative workshop. A very pragmatic training with ready to use tools.
The role of Facilitator is one of the 5 key roles in an agile organization.
Note: This workshop does not build on the Design Thinking methodology, rather it deals with facilitating collaborative workshops using such a methodology.

Details
Learning by doing.
Multiple exercises with peer review to practice the role of facilitator.
Individually or in a team of 2-3 participants, with the active support of experienced practitioners.
A series of theoretical principles, practical exercises, and debriefing to experience the challenges specific to each of the 3 dimensions: team, space, and process.
You will practice designing a workshop: collaborative dynamic, warm-up, practical aspects.
At the end of the training, you will leave with
– a card deck of over 70 methodology cards in English
– the design sprints map in English
– an example of roadbook of 1/2 day collaborative workshop
– a set of documents to prepare your workshops: an electronic canvas to design such workshops, an excel file for your equipments and a pdf providing you consumables references.
– the slides deck.
An online test can be taken to earn a digital certificate which can be integrated directly on your LinkedIn profile, certifying your new skills.
This certification, combined with the Coach certification and Catalyst validation of professional experience, will allow you to organize and facilitate the Facilitator module yourself. This one combined with the Practitioner validation of professional experience, will allow you to organize and facilitate the Facilitator module yourself.

Program
Practicing facilitation
You will experience the role of facilitator through multiple exercises, alone or in pairs. You will build confidence through the facilitation of simple sessions. You will learn to channel a participant’s or group’s energy, and identify your own unique style of facilitation.
Designing a workshop
You will reinforce your skills by designing and facilitating several key segments of a workshop. You will learn to optimize the 3 key elements: teams, space, and process. At the end of the module, you will be ready to design your own workshops.
Throughout the workshop, you will experience every phase of the design and facilitation of a workshop, using the associated tools:
The ‘facilitator’ cards, which help to better facilitate each phase of the process.
The ‘method’ cards, which suggest additional methods for each phase.
The ‘warm-up’ cards, which suggest numerous warm-ups and eye-openers.
The design sprints map to understand the construction of design sprints and how to design your workshops.
